Jack Daniels

In the spring of 2010 we added a new member of the family to the yellow house with the white trim.  We named him Jack because…well, we can’t very well name our son Jack Daniels.  But a dog?  Yah.

He’s a rescue animal.  He was living all alone in a barn for a year or so and was rescued by someone who knew a lot about his particular breed.  What breed is he?  He’s a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  And he’s awesome.  We couldn’t ask for a better member of our family.  I know Dana has thought about trading me in for another Cavalier.

This breed tends to attach itself to a particular toy.  It will often keep a toy for years and years – prefering it over anything else.  This is the case with Jack.  Squeak Toy.  A small red flattish ball with a funny face on one side.  It squeaks when you squeeze it or accidentally step on it in the middle of the night.  Jack will not eat if he doesn’t know where it is.  He tends to hide it under places where he can’t get it out – then bark at you ’till you get it for him.
