Marking Time

One year ago we had our first event.  We don’t have “outreach”.  We have “withreach” or what we like to call Prosper Projects.  We believe God has called us to help the community prosper in all the ways that are good.  So, we joined forces with two land conservancy groups that were already working to irradicate an invasive species of plant from the Saugatuck Dunes State Park (Garlic Mustard).

We sent out a mailer to the area homes letting them know about the opportunity to serve the community alongside us.  We served lunch to anyone who came.  It was a success.  Our first official act as a church was service, helping our community prosper, letting the community know that we cared about creation and about them and a place for them to enjoy nature.

Today we did it again.  The weather was cool and wet (45 deg.).  But we had a good turnout, and met some people in the community and served some warm hotdogs on a cold day.  A good reminder of our start.  Marking a year of public existence.
