Fundraising

$ in the church plant is always a challenge, but an exciting one.  God’s Word says that He owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  I figure God just needs to sell a few when we are in need, and that’s what God’s done.

Part of my job is to raise about $10,000/year.  That’s the way our budget is working right now.  My hope is that it won’t be that way in coming years, but for now…10K/year.  Now, I’m not the most organized person.  God has brought around me many people who are gifted in that area to fill in my gaps.  Unfortunately, fundraising is my job, and I need to be organized about it, or it doesn’t happen.

So, I’m putting together a letter to go out to people who are family and friends.  They’ll hear some stories and get the ask.  I don’t feel odd about it, though.  God sent me into this field, and will move in the hearts of others to help support this ministry.

Asking after asking after asking is not my favorite thing, but asking…it’s giving someone an opportunity to jump in where God is at work.  Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
